Thanks, Chair. Just given we have a very high volume of speakers to not only this item, but many items before council right now, I've circulated a resolution to extend past 10 p.m. to hear speakers this evening, as we did last night. The language is to hear speakers and close the speakers list and receive public comments. realistically that's probably not going to happen given that we're near 400 speakers but I want to at least move the motion now to extend past 10 so we can at least go to maybe midnight or 1 a.m. to hear as many speakers as possible because it is like I said near 400 people at this time and as the staff just noted we have a certain number of reserve dates next week but not an unlimited number of reserve dates so I'd like to move that now just in the interest of time and then we can move on to the business.
Thanks very much. Councillor Orr? I'll let Councillor Maloney go first. Councillor Maloney?
Yeah, if others are happy to stay and listen to speakers past 10, I'm happy to cooperate, but I won't be able to stay past 10.
Thanks very much. Thanks, Councillor Maloney. Councillor Orr?
Yeah, just a question to the chair, to the mover of the resolution. At what point do we decide, you know, like when to call it? Like you said...
go past 10 like like how do we know like a very good question i mean i think that we should probably do a temperature check closer to midnight i mean i think we were all here till about what was it one or one last night um yeah and so my chair falls over that's it I mean, we think we have to be reasonable. People need to get some sleep, too. So I think we can do a bit of a temperature check. So, yeah, it's just administrative. I just want to get it out of the way. And I think clerks, you guys can take copious notes so that people don't have to go review the recordings. They can get notes of the speakers.
Okay. I'm concerned about staff, too. I noticed some staff were also here until pretty late last night, but, I mean, I guess we can't ask questions.
Well, I think that's why we'll do a temperature check and see.
Good question.
Thanks very much.
Yeah, thank you. Okay. We'll call the vote on that one.
Do we have a seconder for that? Sorry. Mayor Sim? Okay. Very good. All right. And do you need a vote assist, Councillor Kerbion?
