Question about item 2 I see I see 52 speakers currently This is a motion through you chair to the movers Question go ahead That's for Domino can't yes go ahead answer Domino I This is a motion. Sorry, this question to the mover. Item two also has an extensive list, some duplicate names here. If we were to put this to what I understand is next Tuesday evening, is there a risk that that item will also be subject to a very long...
Well, I think to your question, I think it'll depend on what else is going over to that reserve. I don't know, clerks, do you know if there's any other items on that reserve agenda?
For the July 28th at 6 p.m.? No, it would just be for these public hearing items. Okay.
Okay, is that all, Councillor Klassen? Does that answer your question? Okay, Councillor Meiszner, question or comment?
I have the same comment as Councillor Klassen. I would support hearing from speakers on both Items 2 and 3 this evening.
You are free to amend the motion if you'd like.
So I'd like to amend the motion to hear speakers on Items 2 and 3 this evening.
Okay, I'm going to move this to an amendment queue then. We did. It was moved by Councillor Domenato. It was seconded by Councillor Bligh.
I can type it up. Okay, we'll pause a moment while the clerks have the language, but I will say, pending the language appearing on the screen, it has been moved. Guys, just one at a time, please. It has been moved by Councillor Domenato, seconded by Councillor Bligh. We will wait for the language to come up on screen so everybody sees it. And then once we have that, we will go back to Councillor Meiszner, who can make an amendment at that time. But let's get the language up for everybody.
no I'll I'll just amend it just give me one sec so clerks are you saying it's because you don't have the language that we don't have it on screen so she can't amend it at this point okay okay okay
It's okay.
No problem. I'm just clarifying the use of amend. Okay. Thank you. Okay. Again, one at a time. I'm going to just take a moment because we need to get this done so we can proceed with the rest of the business. So just please, everybody, be patient for a minute.
And while we are taking a moment, I would encourage any councillors that are pending on the queue that intend to make amendments, if that is the case, please have your language ready.
I've just updated that. I'll just ask the clerks to confirm when you have it.
Okay, council. We now have the motion online, which is, and I'll read it so we're all clear, that council extend past 10 p.m. to introduce item three, including presentation by staff and applicant, questions to applicant, hear from speakers, close speakers, and close public comments, and refer questions to staff, debate and decision.
I think that should say item, is that what you?
Okay, we're going to take a recess for two minutes so that there's no point in us all waiting for this, so that this can be worked out offline, and we'll come back when we have the language. Thanks.
Okay, council, here we go. Guys, one at a time, please. This is the language that we have on screen. I will read it for everybody so we are crystal clear. That council extend past 10 p.m. to introduce item four entitled CD1 rezoning 1905 Ogden Avenue, including presentation by staff and applicant, questions to applicant, hear from speakers, close speakers list, and close public comments. Further, that council refer questions to staff, debate and decision on item four. The council meeting on July 28th as unfinished business. And further, that council refer items two and three to the July 28th, 2026 reconvened public hearing at 6 p.m. That's your intention of what you wish to move, Councillor Domonato? Okay, Councillor Meiszner, you have the floor.
Yeah, thanks. Unfortunately, I don't have the latest language in my inbox, but I want to amend this language to add item two as well.
Okay.
So I'm just wondering if the clerks can email that to me or I'm also willing to do it verbally.
I will look to the clerks. Clerks, are you able to essentially what I'm hearing is modified to do the same process to get through introduction and speakers tonight in simple language?
That's correct. For item two.
What are now items two and three? Yes. So the Pryor Avenue item and the Ogden Street item.
Correct.
Okay, so the clerks are just adding those changes.
Councillor Meiszner is moving it. Councillor Klassen has seconded it. Is there any discussion on the amendment to the motion? Councillor Orr, comments?
It is for clarity. I will tell... So, Councillor Noe, it is now considering continuing speakers for both, essentially, for both the Pryor Street item and the Ogden Avenue item.
Does that clarify for you, Councillor Orr? Yeah.
Yeah. Okay. Councillor Domenetto, to the amendment to your motion.
I was just going to clarify for Councillor Orr is that while we varied the agenda earlier, apparently the numbering stays the same. I think we have that point. Yeah. So just to be clear, so we had to adjust the numbering as well.
Yeah. Thank you, Councillor Domenetto. Councillor Orr, anything further?
No.
Okay. Are there, at this point, clerks, do you have the language? Okay. If there is nothing further, I'm going to... I'm just going to highlight this, and then I'm going to take us to a vote.
Just to note, the language needs to be changed in the second paragraph as well.
Thank you, Councillor Meiszner.
Okay, we now have the language.
I am going once, going twice. If you have no further conversation, all in favor? Aye. Are there any opposed?
Okay, so we have two opposed from Councillor Fry and Councillor Maloney, but my understanding is that that is a two. Can I please just do this one at a time? I'm going to ask Councillors. I know it's late, but if you can just let me get this out, this may answer some of your questions. my understanding is that that is a two-thirds vote of councillors present and so by my calculation as the clerk's confirm that passes is that correct clerk I asked for all in favor and then we asked it correct okay you can put yourself on the queue I would encourage counselors to do if counselors have questions please put yourself on the queue and then we will deal with them one by one I think we should do a recorded vote
