Sustain Chair's Ruling – Urgent Business

All right. So as the commissioners in public know, urgent business requires that it relate, it's in connection with a public health or safety or a financial or legal matter of significance to the Vancouver Park Board. So I'm going to pause the meeting for just one minute while I consult with the clerk to say if, so I can make a determination.

Commissioners I have a ruling on this and I'll just explain I rule that this motion is not urgent because Because these are even though the capital planning process is critical and it is rolling out and it does have to be decided the next month basically hearing the motion next week would give the other commissioners fair notice of what's in the motion and would give them a chance to decide so my ruling is we will motions not urgent and I hear a point of order from Commissioner Bastiwanski.

I'd like to challenge the ruling of the chair.

Under the procedure bylaw, a commissioner is entitled to challenge the ruling by moving to that effect, a motion to that effect. And what I need is two-thirds of the members present. So there's seven of us present. So I need two-thirds to vote in favor of this motion. challenge to support my ruling in order to sustain my ruling. So I need five of seven commissioners to vote in favour with me to sustain this. So we'll now, without debate, we'll have a vote by show of hands.
