We do love to hear from our public, and it's just rare that we don't hear quite that much. Committee reports. Our next item is the report of the Park Board Committee from earlier tonight. We need a motion to adopt that. I see Commissioner Christensen and a seconder, Commissioner Jensen, all in favour of adopting the committee report from earlier this evening and looking for Commissioner Howard and Commissioner Hare. Thank you, Chair. Good evening, Commissioners. At Memorial West Park, the hydraulic irrigation system installed... 1980 had reached end of life and was no longer operational. The system was one of nine remaining hydraulic installations across the park's network prioritized for replacement. A complete irrigation system replacement has now been completed on this heavy-use Class B1 sand-based multi-use sports field. System design and construction were delivered internally by the park board irrigation team in collaboration with park operations staff. Over a three-week construction period, more than 4,800 linear feet of irrigation piping, along with wiring, control boxes, and irrigation heads were installed. Construction concluded in early February. Despite challenging environmental conditions, park operations teams maintain the project schedule to ensure the field reopened by April 1st in time for the 2026 Little League season. Key benefits of the new irrigation system include targeted water delivery improves efficiency and delivers significant water use savings, improved field conditions with fewer dry spots and reduced water pooling, remote system control capability enables additional operational and water savings, simplified maintenance and troubleshooting, reduced labor and response time, and enhanced safety, playability, consistency, and overall field quality. Upcoming sports field projects include renovations to the East Ball Field at China Creek North, the enclosed girls softball diamond at Trafalgar Park, and both North Little League fields at Nanaimo Park. The inclusive playground design project advances park board direction to improve accessibility and inclusion in Vancouver's parks. The project includes the city's first inclusive destination playground at Memorial South Park in the Sunset neighborhood, as well as the development of inclusive playground design guidelines to support future playground renewal citywide. Memorial South Park was recommended as the first of five destination play areas based on its accessibility, transit access, existing park amenities, and location within an equity initiative zone. Public engagement will take place from May 5th to May 26th, focusing on inclusive play principles and early outreach to key interest holders and community partners. Engagement will include a Shape Your City webpage and online survey, targeted outreach to inclusivity organizations, and an on-site presence during the Memorial South Park Centennial event, hosted by South Vancouver Neighborhood House on May 24th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
