Yeah, similar to the sort of other line of questioning. I mean, just procedurally, again, because we're kind of figuring this out here in terms of... So this is recommended to go to council, but there is an option... for it to go to public hearing. And what does that process look like? I mean, this is all brand new, right? So what would council need to do to sort of initiate that? As far as the steps for... Procedurally, because I can't talk about the merits, obviously, of the proposal. I'm just thinking procedurally... If it was in the interest, say, of the public, if there had been any sort of public comments around this and if there had been concern that this is mostly commercial and not residential, right? So that there might be members of the public who want to see it go to a public hearing. What does that process look like?
Yeah, thanks for the question. So, again, consistent with the new Vancouver Charter requirements, projects that are consistent with the ODP, but other uses beyond residential. So, commercial use is Council's kind of decision path about refer to public hearing versus refer to Council. FOR DECISION. SO WE'VE DEVELOPED SOME INTERNAL CRITERIA TO HELP JUST GUIDE A STAFF LEVEL RECOMMENDATION AROUND CONSISTENT WITH BOTH THE ODP BUT ALSO OUR PLANS AND POLICIES, THE EXTENT OF KIND OF PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT AND COMMENT. WE RECEIVED ABOUT 30 SOME ODD COMMENTS ON THIS PROJECT LEADING UP THROUGH THE SHEEPY CITY PROCESS AND SO FOR THOSE REASONS WE'RE RECOMMENDING BECAUSE IT'S CONSISTENT WITH THOSE MATTERS REFERRING TO COUNCIL DECISION. If council wanted to refer this to public hearing for other reasons, whether it's because of the hotel or you want to hear more from the public, you certainly have the ability to do so. You'd have to move a motion that would replace the direction to refer to council with just a motion to refer to public hearing. Otherwise, the rest of the resolutions would generally be the same. So it'd be more of a nuanced change to the resolution, but we could direct it to public hearing if that's what council wanted to do.
Okay, thanks. Yeah, I just was more really like sort of curious about the process. I see here also that the clerk sort of answered my question too around what that would look like in terms of the language. But I'm happy just to sort of get on with the proceedings here. But it was more I'm just curious, you know, how this would work.
